In
addition to the standard Illness and Injury Prevention Plan that
the company implements on a daily basis at every job site, operational
managers conduct a Job Hazard Analysis prior to beginning any project
in order to identify unique work procedures that might need additional
safety-related planning. These JHAs help our supervisors plan for
every possible contingency, hazard or danger that they might encounter.
We use these Job Hazard Analyses to help prevent accidents and in
order to maintain the safest possible work environment for all of
our employees.
Loy
Clark Pipeline Company’s safety record has been exemplary
for several decades, earning the company two awards in recent years.
The first, in 1998, was given by SAIF Corporation, the company’s
workers’ compensation insurance carrier at that time. The
award was given for having an average claims rate less than the
industry average for five straight years. The second award was presented
by the Distribution Contractor’s Association and was given
to Loy Clark Pipeline Company for achieving the third best safety
statistics of DCA contractors with over 200,000 hours worked in
the calendar year 2001. These accolades were earned by the employees
of Loy Clark Pipeline Company, who take pride in the work they perform
every day and in the safe manner in which they accomplish their
work.
We
all want to go home safely at the end of every work day and we want
the same for each of our co-workers. Therefore, at Loy Clark Pipeline
Company, we say (and live by) the words: “Safety FIRST.”
